There's currently no detailed information of Gustov's past, regarding to his life prior to becoming a vampire or The Rising.
After capturing John's wife, Wendy, they tie her up to a tree and beat her with chains, demanding that The Survivors send down Vanessa Helsing or else they'll kill Wendy. Gustov approaches Julius at the compound, informing him of The Dead Girl's location, he says she near, by the bridge to be exact, she took out a feral and she traveling with a group of survivors. Julius demands that they kill everyone with the exception of the girl, however, Gustov is hesitant to do so as Vanessa is very powerful. Despite previously catching Vanessa Helsing, she manages to escape their grasp yet again, making her way into the sewers, where the mutated vampires reside. Julius orders him to follow her down there, but they are too afraid to do so, he assures Julius that down there humans will die but that's the opposite of what Julius wants, offering fresh meat to anyone who brings Vanessa back alive. The vampires have lost their patience, now they're prepared to invade the hospital at Julius' command. They fail at their first attempt to take Vanessa as The Survivors were waiting for them with rifles and explosions. The remaining vampires come out defeated, Julius tells Gustov that he's disappointed in them, but Gustov points out that they need more warriors. Continue Reading Here....
Gustov is very loyal to Julius and he obeys his every command, even if he doesn't agree with it. He's not just loyal but submissive too, freighted by Julius which also correlates to his obedience. Demonstrated when he was hesitant to go after Vanessa Helsing due to her being so powerful, Julius used fear and threats as motivation.
He possesses the typical abilities associated with all vampires, such as advanced speed, strength, longevity, etc. He has yet to display any these abilities, however, due to his vampire status, the only conclusion to be made is that he possess these powers.
