Christopher Heyerdahl is a Canadian actor best know for his roles as "Bigfoot / John Druitt" in Syfy's "Sancturary", "Todd the Wraith / Halling / Male Wraith", in Syfy's "Stargate: Atlantis", "The Swede / Thor Gundersen" in AMC's "Hell on Wheels", "Alastair" in The CW's "Supernatural" and "Dieter Braun" in HBO's "True Blood". He currently portrays Sam in Syfy's Van Helsing.
He is of Norwegian and Scottish descent, and was born in the mountains of British Columbia. His family emigrated from Norway to Canada in the 1950's. Heyerdahl fluently speaks Norwegian and studied for some time at the University of Oslo.
Chris first project was in 1987, he portrayed Jake in the original 21 Jump Street film. After that, he gained roles is several films and television series to follow, he eventually became known internationally for his incredible performances in film, theater and television.
He's mainly appeared in television roles, mainly minor of recurring such as "Falling Skies, "Castle", "CSI", "Smallville", "Vegas", and many others.
One of his bigger roles were in the Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, he landed a role in the second, third and fourth installment as Marcus Volturi.
